Saska Performing 12:30-4:30pm The band Saska is a progressive/indie/blues band that hails from Toms River, New Jersey. Noted as an up-and-coming band on the scene, Brandon Hans of the acclaimed Original Music Showcase has described their sound as having a definitive style with great potential in the music industry.
Fresh from a studio run, Saska is preparing to release their first full-length album later this spring. The collection is their first professional attempt to capture the synergy and soundscapes that are the hallmark of their live performances. Saska is a collection of talented artists coming together to make a whole greater than each individual musician. Singer/songwriter Melissa Murray fronts the band with a voice crafted from years of training and study with the likes of the well-known Judy Hages. Keyboardist/songwriter Jake Hughes has been nominated a number of times by the Asbury Music Awards and has played with such noteworthy individuals as Nick Clemons, son of Clarence “The Big Man” Clemons . These two are joined by blues picker Doug Hunter, formerly of the progressive rock outfit Entelechy, bassist Jake Whitaker (currently studying under Anthony Wellington) and original drummer Chris Quinn.
