“Jumpin Jack” Strobel & the “Swamp Boogie Quartet” – MARDI GRAS !! Saturday, February 18, 1:00-4:00pm Free Admission
Jumpin’ Jack’s “Swamp Boogie” serves up an eclectic blend of American Roadhouse music – it’s blues, boogie woogie, jazz, swing and Cajun swamp music - featuring Jumpin’ Jack (piano, vocals), Peter Wagula (guitar), Michael Lampe (upright bass, vocals) and Steve Brown (Cajon drum box, percussion, vocals). These unique and talented artists meld together their individual styles for the listening pleasure of our guests at Laurita Winery.
Jumpin Jack, a jersey native, is a piano man, singer and songwriter covering new, used and original material reminiscent of artists such as Ray Charles, Charles Brown and Dr. John. Pete Wagula lays glass on strings, specializing in traditional acoustic bottleneck slide guitar. Mike Lampe leaves his audiences smiling with his unique ability to swing and sing. Mike has toured with the “Bill Haley & the Comets” ghost band and is a respected and sought after upright swing and blues bassist on the east coast music scene today. Percussionist and vocalist Steve Brown adds a little pizazz and Cajun spice to the mix with some interesting and unique instruments.
Melissa Murray Saturday, February 18, 5:00-8:30pm Free Admission
In Melissa Murray's music, you'll hear crystal clear vocals meet organic, emotional blue collar styling. Her vocal mastery is apparent at first blush but one often finds it hard to focus on her technical perfection while being blown away by her mesmerizing performance and blues-born bravada that brings the house down. The dichotomy of her performance is mirrored in her life. Melissa's website
