Feast of San Gennaro |
Date: 9/8 - 9/08
Feast of San Gennaro Sunday, September 8, Noon-8:00pm Free Admission
The Feast of San Gennaro, originally a one-day religious commemoration, began in September 1926 when newly arrived immigrants from Naples congregated along Mulberry Street in the Little Italy section of New York City, to continue the tradition they had followed in Italy to celebrate San Gennaro, the Patron Saint of Naples. His feast day is September 19 in the liturgical calendar of the Roman Catholic Church. This year, Laurita Winery is proud to begin its first annual celebration for a NJ Winery to honor the Patron Saint of Naples. Many plans are underway to make this first annual event a special one with live music, artisans, and festival activities to help support honor the traditions passed down by the heritage of many families in our area. Come celebrate with us and enjoy the street fair atmosphere and your favorite NJ winery.
